Tamiya Grasshopper is discontinued from our selection
The Tamiya Grasshopper was one of the most legendary kit cars from the 1980s. Introduced in 1984, it quickly became popular thanks to its simple design, low price, and iconic look.
Although the model is now discontinued, we remember the Grasshopper as the entry ticket to the RC hobby for thousands of enthusiasts worldwide.
Product Description of Tamiya Grasshopper
The Grasshopper, easy to build, easy to use, all at a truly beginner-friendly price - and now it's back better than ever thanks to modern electronics.
NOTE THIS IS A KIT!
Though its electronics have jumped into the future, the Grasshopper still sports its iconic 80s look, and just like back in 1984, today it's a fantastic choice for a build-your-own car for those who have never built one before or for those who simply want to take a trip down memory lane.
You have to assemble your own Grasshopper. It's like building Technic Lego, just follow the manual, and after a few evenings at a cozy pace, you'll have a cool ready-to-run race car.
To be ready-to-run, you need a radio set (with servo, battery, and charger) and an ESC. Save 20% when buying with the car!

Tips and Video from the Workshop
When we build our own Tamiya cars, we often upgrade the original plastic bearings to real ball bearings. With ball bearings, your car rolls better and that provides both more top speed and longer run time. It's especially a great idea if you tune your Grasshopper with the big RS 540 motor. For the Grasshopper, you need one set of each of these - 1150 and 850.
Tuning the Grasshopper? Upgrade to Tamiya RS 540 motor for maximum top speed and wild acceleration. Need we say it's at your own risk?
If you're unlucky enough to need spare parts for your Tamiya car, you'll find all item numbers at the back of your manual. Once you have the right item number, contact us at support@morfars.dk so we can order spare parts for you.
